The Good Life Festival: Meet Julia Baker

On Saturday, February 9th, join us at The Good Life Festival Presents: wine tasting ˜ food trucks ˜ celebrity chefs ˜ live music. This is the ultimate food and wine festival at Encanterra, where you can taste fine wines and champagnes and the Valley’s best food truck fare. The festival will also include celebrity chefs like Duff Goldman, Tyler Florence, and the Valley’s own Julia Baker, baker to the stars.

Whether it’s a delectable truffle overflowing with flavor or a breathtaking cake that tastes as amazing as it looks, there’s one ingredient that goes into everything Julia Baker creates – her passion for chocolate. The chic culinary artist and confectioner serves as founder, head chef and CEO of Julia Baker Confections. Originally beginning her career as a statistician, Julia ultimately followed her zeal for food and took her personal and professional dreams in another direction.

In 2002, Julia graduated first in her class and obtained the Grande Diplôme de Cuisine and de Pâtisserie – the highest diplomas in both pastry and cuisine from the world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu Paris. Her exceptional chocolates, desserts, one-of-a-kind cakes and confections are all made from scratch each day without any preservatives or artificial ingredients. Each day she produces her signature French caramel and chocolate mousse, as well as tailored chocolate blends made from top chocolate producers.

Along with creating custom chocolate orders, she is solely responsible for the design and construction of her legendary custom cakes, which are reserved as far as 2 years in advance. All cakes are hand-designed by Julia and are unique for each occasion. Her sweet creations have garnered Julia notoriety as the “Chocolatier to the Stars” and singer/songwriter Alicia Keys has called Julia “breathtakingly talented.” Julia has also made chocolates for other celebrities, including Bono and U2, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Aniston and Britney Spears.
