2009 was another year of giving, creating, and achieving for Trilogy members. Some gave hope to troubled teens; others gave food to the hungry. Some shared financial advice; others shared unique perspectives. Some went for the gold, while others were happy to stay out of the rough. Let’s revisit some of the stories of 2009 that feature Trilogy home owners giving back, sharing knowledge, and pursuing passions.
Who: Gloria MacKay
What: Sharing a unique perspective
Gloria MacKay of Trilogy at Redmond Ridge is a writer of poetry and essays. Through her series entitled Sense of Place, she shares her thoughts, reflections, and life stories with her fellow Trilogy members.

Who: Walkers and Wanderers of Trilogy at Redmond Ridge
What: Exploring the beauty of their own backyard
Many Trilogy members walk the streets and trails of Redmond Ridge, as well as an adjacent trail network called the Redmond Watershed Preserve. Each walk offers new scenes and new adventures. Who: Molly Boll
What: Encouraging diabetics to live their best life
As a Type II diabetic of 27 years, developer of the Diabetes Wellness Group, and member of the Diabetes Educational Review Board at the UW Medical Center/Diabetes Clinic, Redmond Ridge member Molly Boll is an expert on the topic of diabetes. Through the “Living Your Best Life with Diabetes” series in Trilogy Life Magazine, she has shared her experience, advice, and knowledge of the “silent epidemic” with her fellow Trilogy members.

Who: Trilogy at Vistancia’s Golfing Community
What: Supporting our troops through the game of golf
The members of Trilogy at Vistancia are doing their part to lift the spirits and lower the stress levels of U.S. troops through the game of golf. Through Operation Mulligan, a project that was launched last spring, Vistancia’s golfing community collected used golf balls, golf clubs, and golf bags to donate to troops serving overseas.

What: Biking for a cure for MS
On March 28th and 29th, Team Trilogy of Vistancia participated for the second consecutive year in the National MS Society’s “Bike MS Round Up Ride.” In their efforts to bike for a cure, the 11 members of Team Trilogy rode a total of nearly 1,000 miles and raised an impressive $8,000.

Who: Neighbors Helping Neighbors of Trilogy at Redmond Ridge
What: Giving hope to the hungry

Who: Relay for Life Team of Victoria Gardens
What: Celebrating, remembering, and fighting back
As the sun set on April 24th in DeLand, Florida, hand-painted luminaries and the bright light of hope cut through the dark of night as hundreds of people walked to celebrate life, remember loved ones, and fight back against cancer. The members of Victoria Gardens, along with the surrounding Victoria Park community, joined together with the American Cancer Society to take a step closer to finding a cure for cancer.

This past October, the members of Trilogy at Encanterra walked, ran, and volunteered under the moonlight to make a difference in the lives of the children of Phoenix, Arizona. Their goal in donating their time and energy was to enhance the life of their community by protecting and enriching the lives of children, who are the future of their community.
